Moving forward, all of our services, including ABF and the midweek service, will be livestreamed from our website here at gbcmuncie.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gbcmuncie. RE: Worship Through Giving
The financial needs of our ministry continue. The offering plates will not be passed, but an usher will be available at each aisle door as you exit the service. If you’re not attending or if you prefer, you certainly may continue to stop by the church office, send your offering by mail, or give securely by text (765-300-4045) or online. (Simply click here, or select ONLINE GIVING from the main menu.)
Beginning this weekend, our Statistical Blessings will be posted in each Saturday update.
Thank you for your continued faithfulness.
RE: Our Precautions
The coffee center will be closed. You are welcome to bring a travel mug of java.
Bulletins, outlines, and other handouts will be available at the Information Center counter. Offering plates will not be passed, but ushers will be available at the aisle doors to receive any offering as you leave. On Sundays our regular welcoming-of-guests in the service will be from the platform only.
Most doors will be propped open so that touching door handles may be avoided.
Hand sanitizer will be readily available.
The entire facility has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and will be again after each use, with special attention to surfaces that are commonly touched (tables, chairs, and other furniture—including the arms and backs of pews—countertops, door and other handles, banisters, light switches, drinking fountains, etc.). Of course, the restrooms and nurseries will be sanitized floor-to-ceiling, as usual.
RE: Our Requests
Please do not come if you are not comfortable with coming, if you aren’t feeling well, have a fever or other flu-like symptoms, or have had direct contact with someone who is confirmed to have had COVID-19.
We ask that you avoid touching the hymnals, but rely on the screens instead.
We ask that you consider wearing a mask, that you maintain safe hygiene, be mindful of social-distancing, and that you do not disparage those who choose to do so.
While everyone wants to get back to worshipping together, we must do it in a loving way and with a servant-spirit. Please be considerate of those who are less comfortable being in public than you are. We likely will have some high-risk* individuals who choose to come. Even more likely, we will have people who live with and/or care for high-risk individuals, but are “testing the waters” because they don’t want to miss.
*Adults and children with an underlying health condition (heart or lung disease, diabetes, hypertension, etc.), compromised immune systems (cancer survivors, those with a transplanted organ, etc.), or anyone over 60 years of age
RE: Reopening
As is clear from the daily news, positions regarding reopening fall across a wide spectrum, so every position is controversial. Please know that our decisions have not been made lightly, but have come through much discussion and prayer. In any case, our church leadership deeply appreciates your prayer for wisdom and discernment. Thank you.

RE: The Lord’s Day
We look forward to gathering online again tomorrow at 10:30a EDT for a live worship service streamed from our website here at gbcmuncie.org and on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gbcmuncie. Few things hinder the worship and work of God as abruptly and thoroughly as tech problems. Much preparation goes into these services. Please know that we keenly share your frustration when there are connectivity issues and are doing everything possible to prevent them. Thank you for praying with us regarding this.
RE: Kids Konnection is back!
Parents, your children are invited to another virtual Sunday school class tomorrow morning at 9:30. There will be singing, an age-appropriate lesson, and a craft. If you’d like for your kids to participate in the craft, have the following ready: a paper plate, one piece of printer paper, a Popsicle stick, glue or tape, scissors, and crayons or colored pencils. Join us for the livestream on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gbcmuncie or on YouTube. If you miss it live, the replay will be available from our Video Archive here at gbcmuncie.org.
