The Reformers Unanimous Addictions Program is touching the lives of our RU students and their families, as well as our workers. Here are two examples.
Example One: Several weeks ago, a lady called the RU phone number inquiring about the program for a close relative. The next Friday night she came with her nephew, Sean, to one of the meetings. He returned the next week by himself, got involved in the program and the curriculum, came every week to the meetings, and the Lord began working in his life and on his addiction. A letter recently received from Sean's aunt clearly reveals how God is using the RU program to help people with their addictions. She writes:
"Dear RU Director,
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you and Grace Baptist are doing for my nephew, Sean Cox. I can see his whole demeanor and attitude changing and he has excitement in his voice. He has something to grasp onto that he hasn't had for a very long time. The RU program is a big undertaking for your congregation. It is obvious that a lot of thought and effort has gone into it. It encompasses so much more than the addiction. Sean really respects and cares about you, Jay, RU, and being able to play basketball with new friends. He is loving the church services and Pastor Glenn. He is learning a lot and it has gotten his life back on track with God. From the bottom of our hearts our family thanks you, because now there is a glimmer of hope for Sean's life. God kept pulling me to that sign in front of your church and I am so glad He did. I know Sean has a long way to go, but with God's help and the blessings of RU and Grace Baptist he can do it.
Sincerely,
Carol Pyle"

Example Two: Here's another example of the RU Addictions Program touching the lives of those who are involved. The following essay was written by one of our faithful RU workers in response to a certain challenge in the Strongholds Study Course (part of the Reformers Unanimous curriculum). We have withheld the name of the essay's author by request.
"When I first began the Strongholds book, I thought, 'Piece of cake. I've learned all this before. It will be a breeze!' Little did I know what a change God would work in my life. I suddenly became hungry to know more about God and would read His Word, wanting to know more. Many verses that I had memorized in the past became fresh for me and I gained new understanding of them. God has truly changed my heart. Before using the Strongholds book, I had become a Christian who was just going through the motions. But as I became more faithful in studying God's Word, He has been faithful in teaching me what I need in order to grow in Him. This program [Reformers Unanimous] has touched my life like no other. God has become real to me. I can now see Him guiding me, meeting my needs and giving me grace for every temptation or challenge in my life. My life is no longer the same as it was over six months ago. Praise the Lord!"
Perhaps you could benefit from RU like these two examples. Maybe someone you know needs RU. Consider bringing him/her with you this Friday. We rejoice in what God is doing in the lives of our students and even workers here at Reformer's Unanimous. RU meets every Friday night at GBC from 7-9 PM. A nursery and Kidz Club program are available while you attend the adult program. Transportation is available as well. No matter who you are, or what you have done, you are welcome to come. R U ready to get well?
Joyfully Yours,
Darrell Nichols
